About Nancy

“When elected, I can hit the ground running. My plan is to build upon the success of my predecessor and ensure our office remains the gold standard in government and customer service.”

I have worked at the HC Tax Collectors for over 31 years. I walked through the doors of the Tax Collector’s office at the age of 22 and over the past 30 years worked my way up through the ranks. Now, I am running to be your next Tax Collector.

The Tax Collector’s office serves over 1.2 million residents a year and collects and distributes over 2.1 BILLION dollars in revenue annually while housing our resident’s most sensitive information.

Experience Matters. And no other candidate knows this office inside and out. Some candidates will promise all sorts of commitments- but they mean nothing without the “know-how” to implement a tremendous obligation to our taxpayers.

Nancy is also involved in every facet of the office, from managing state and local resources to working with thousands of citizens every day in support of their most-valued documents and possessions. Whether it’s a birth certificate, a teenager’s first driver’s license, boat registration, or tag renewal, she has had the privilege of servicing our community through some of the momentous occasions in their lives.

Over the years, the Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office has become the gold standard for Florida State government agencies. As a member of the leadership team, Nancy has played a critical role in bringing innovative solutions to service delivery, making doing business with the agency a fast, friendly experience for the citizens of Hillsborough County.

A Hillsborough County native and proud mother of her son, Vinny, Nancy is not only a leader in her profession but also in the community. In honor of her commitment to public service, she was recognized as the county’s Hispanic Woman of the Year in 2001.

Nancy has served on the Florida West Coast Credit Union Board of Directors — of which she is currently chairwoman since 2006. She was also recently appointed to serve as a member of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Council.

Nancy’s past leadership positions include chairwoman of the Florida Tax Collector Association’s Public Information Coalition from its inception in 2006 through August of 2019. She was nominated by Congresswoman Kathy Castor to serve on the Board of the Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council from 2003 to 2004. She also served as an executive committee member of the Board of Trinity School for Children 2005–2008.
